council of demons

The Devil went out one day to call for a council of demons.

“The 20th century is the bloodiest century ever in the history of time!”

All the demons celebrated and jeered.

“But!” The Devil shouted angrily.

“I do not see enough division, dissent, despair, anger and wickedness to accompany this bloodshed!”

All the demons whispered to each other about the displeasantry of their leader.

“Who has any suggestions on how to divide the world to further sin?”

A demon raised his hand.

“Yes, you there, what is your advice?”

The demon went up in front and shouted to the community: “Split them at home.”

The Devil shook his head in dismay “We have already tried that. The divorce rate is the best we have seen since the beginning of time.”

The demon rebutted. “I’m not talking about just the parents. I’m talking about everyone. Especially the children.”

The Devil squinted his eyes. “I’m listening.”

The demon went on “Kill all of the discussions that matter at home. Make them minimize their time for each other. Connect them to the anger, despair, vanity and anxiety of the world. Perpetually distract them from the important things in life that will snatch them away to know who Jesus Christ really is.”

The Devil asked “How do you suggest we do this?”

The demon, without batting an eye, replied “Why, through wiring their brains on their phone using social media of course! Social media is the best way to reveal the world for what it is! All we need to do is hook as many people as we can to it, and we have accomplished our mission of dividing the world!”

The Devil clapped his hands and boomed, “You will succeed. Go and do you what you think is best.”
