It was past midnight and a friend of mine asked me this question: “is woman meant to be second to man?”
I was quite surprised. I don’t consider myself as an apologist (although it’s my dream to be one) but I tried to answer her as best as I could.
In God, everyone is equal
Society today has placed men above women in thought, deed, praise, action, you name it. The world has twisted the truth that men and women are created equally by God. Both lives are sacred, both lives are honored by God, both lives are treasured by Jesus as He died for all. Men and women are equal up until now because that’s how God sees it.
We equate responsibility with equality
God has placed very important roles for men and women alike. Although society has placed a higher value on the responsibility of men, we are still equal. DO NOT EQUATE responsibility with equality. Sometimes we think it all goes down to that. For example: In a family, men are the ones responsible to lead because God has placed us in that position, women are responsible to take care and support their husbands. But that doesn’t make us any less equal! DON’T EQUATE RESPONSIBILITY WITH EQUALITY!!!
Let me give you another example: Suppose I’m a watchmaker and a hammer-crafter. I make a watch and I know it’s purpose – I know exactly what I designed it for, right? I love the watch and want to use it to it’s fullest. I want it to be the best that it can. So I wear it on my arms and use it to know the time.
Now, I make a hammer. I love it as much as I love the watch. They are equal. One is not more precious than the other, and one is not more useful for me than the other – they are both the same. BUT if I use the watch to pummel a nail – it will get broken, I won’t be pleased and it will only destroy itself. I love them both and they are equal to me but they have different roles. Same with men and women. God has put us in places where we can serve our perfect purposes through the perfect responsibilities GOD HAS DESIGNED US FOR.
Women, don’t look down on yourselves
God has a very special place in His heart for women. In the scriptures, Jesus gave the best compliment – one that He never gave to anyone else – to a woman:
“Truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of in memory of her.”
This was the story of a woman who poured perfume on Jesus’ head when the day of His crucifixion was nearing. Women, you are special – just like what my previous post, “A Woman’s Question”, says. Don’t ever believe in the lies that this world has drowned you in with.
The first sin men has ever committed was disbelief in God and believing the word of the world (or it’s current ruler, Satan). Don’t fall into that trap – Trust God, Trust in His word. Don’t stumble on Him.

Well in times that passed Men are the Superior Being.
We govern this world. We Practically own Everything.
We are Better in all aspects that a “woman” can do.
I remembered a TV show from before when the husband enslaved the women of their family.
By the means of Punishment, and telling them that men are Far superior.
Forgot what it was tho…
And in as well in the past woman have brought this world into destruction.

We are Not EQUAL to Woman.
We are Better.
We Superior.
We made this World.
and they will stand in our Shadows.

Again, I say, equality is not the same as responsibility. If you think women are responsible for bringing sin into our world, that doesn’t make them any less equal to us.
We can look and blame women all we want, but that just make us worse than them doesn’t it?
Do you believe in God, sir? Because I tell you, He declared us men and women alike as equal. The very first sin is disbelief and I will tackle on that sometime soon.

Woman Bringing sin to the World? Maybe…
In my experiences.. They brought sin into the World.. Left men in a disadvantage.
I once saw my Brother. One of the best he was. He lost himself.. He was like a role Model, always doing what was right. Always keeping us in check. But when he met this Certain person. He changed.
He was not like what he used to be..
Our Dear Brother, doesnt have any money, of course as we Brothers lend him we thought he used it for school… But instead he used his money for the Girl. Buying her stuff. etc…
He used to be an A class student. NOW where is he? That scum… blew him of, cause he cant take care of her anymore. Gold Digger.

In this world everything should be in balance.. Look what happen to people who abuse something.. Too much of everything is bad.. People see women as second to man because women are usually the one serving the needs of men like cooking their food, ironing their cloths, comforting them.. Men usually abuse these things from women.. but what if we take women out of the picture will men survive?.. after a long tiresome day men usually get home expecting dinner on the table.. with women out of the picture.. he would need to cook for himself.. and that would be frustrating for some men usually those who dont know how to cook and those who are too tired to cook.. I agree that both men and women have different roles, it is just that women are men’s opposites.. Just like a magnet, it is useless when there is no positive and negative charge.. men and women are like the positive and negative charge.. men and women attracts each other and each one has its own purpose.. Without Mother Mary there won’t be a Jesus..

Excellent article. I cannot stand men like BT5 stuff, thinking they’re superior and they have right to treat women as shit.
I don’t think motherhood and being at home are the only one duty of a woman. Noble and important? Yes, but not the MOST important. There are ones who choose not to marry, me for example and there where numerous great queens for example, leaders, even war commanders, still having their feminine dignity, without any masculinity. Men and women are different, yes, but equal. They can choose the way of life they wish and not to follow the “traditional” gender roles.
Oh Lord, first let me say, Sean, you are a very, very nice guy. But unlike you, I must reply to some of the comments above:
1. Before the earth was created, there was Jesus, so without Mary, yes, we would still have Jesus. Women do not have anything to do with the Existence of God. God created men, and women, not the other way around. Ahhhh, that felt goood.
2. Women have different roles than men do and it is clearly stated in the bible. One of the most obvious roles is for the older women to teach the younger women (of the bible). Also, if Married, to be committed to your husband and a help meet (this is why eve was created in the first place).
3.We are all sinners, we are born sinners, there’s no “he sinned worse than I sinned.” yeah maybe to us, but to God it is all Sin. So, women aren’t better sinners than men and men aren’t better sinners than women, but the bible does give us special, well, for lack of better words “talents” for each sex to look out for. For example: A Jezebel spirit.
4. Men are not tempted by women. Men are tempted by their own evil desires and so are women. Read the first chapter of James. It’s in the New testament.
5. Always remember, there’s no such thing as good people. I hear a lot, “why does God let bad things happen to good people?” That’s not even an accurate statement because we are born in sin, we have a sinful nature and good is measured by God, not by us. So, it is a rhetorical question.
